Howard "Cherokee" W. Mills

Howard "Cherokee" W. Mills, 86, of Beloit, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020. He was born on July 25, 1934 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Andrew W. and Thelma (Wilson) Mills. He married Carla Smith on October 21, 2006 in Beloit, Wisconsin. Howard was a painter by trade. He enjoyed the water and was a good swimmer. He also was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed spending time in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Mills; children, Melody A. Mills, Karen Sue (Bill) Emmert and Howard Michael (Joy) Mills; step-children, Cashè S. Smith, Antalica R. Smith and Calida N. Smith; grandchildren, Heather S. (Ken)  Luberts, Ethan W. Mills, Jordan (Courtney) Emmert, Stephanee and (Jon) Elling; step-grandchildren, Kèasiah Hanley and Keyon M. Hanley; great-grandsons, Tyler N. and Dylan T. Irwin and Logan Johnson, Daltyn W. Mills; great-great grandson, Liam Zezniewski. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, David K. and Larry C. Mills.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please check back for updates. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
