Helen Mae George, 98, of Roscoe, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019. She was born on August 27, 1921 in Belvidere to Edwin and Helen (Harnish) McLean. Helen married Donald William George on November 28, 1940. She was a lifelong member of the VFW auxiliary 2955. She was also a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church, Birthday Club and Homemakers Club. Helen worked at the Roscoe United States Post Office for many years. She had a passion for making sterilized bandages for cancer patients. Helen enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and playing cards, especially Euchre.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Barb) George and Linda Earleywine; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cathy) George, Debbie George and Tim (Elizabeth) Earleywine; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Katerina) George and Jaydyn Stroud; great-great-grandchild, Charlotte George; sisters, Darlene Green, Shirley Dewey and Doris Fisher; brother-in-law, Frank Curatolo. Predeceased by parents, husband, son, Donald R. George; sisters, Audrey Curatolo and Catherine Scott; brothers-in-law, John Dewey, Dick Fisher, Bert Green and Alden Scott.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, Illinois 61073 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Roscoe Cemetery. Memorials contributions can be made to Beloit Regional Hospice or Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department.
