Harry Hendrickson, Sr. Obituary

Harry G. Hendrickson, Sr., 83, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018.  Born in Downers Grove, IL to Harry and Lillian (Hain) Hendrickson.  He married Hazel Frazier on August 7, 1967; they were married 51 years.  He was in the Armed Forces and was a teamster for Carolina Freight (ABF Freight) for many years.

Harry and his wife and his parents-in-law owned Pete and Bud's Bar on West State Street in Rockford.  He did many trades, from a pilot to weatherman, a paratrooper, frontline.  He loved fishing, bowling, playing darts, camping, boating, football, horse racing, baseball and driving.

He use to always say, "You are only as good as your word you keep".  He would give great advice as needed but boy he'd be blunt as heck as well. He was everything and more....could never ask for a better Father....he never missed anything.  He loved life in general and family.   We will miss him, from his words when he would walk out the front door saying, "Good morning world" to From "Ditto", "back at cha" and your "get your butt up text".  He was the greatest. He loved all of us beyond everything and he had our love in return.  He was a very generous, kind-hearted, and loyal man.

Survivors include wife, Irene Hendrickson; sons, Shane (Deann) Hendrickson and Guy Hendrickson; daughter, Dawn (Mike Roberts) Hendrickson; daughters-in-law, Becky Hendrickson and Cindy Larson; grandchildren, Cassie, Johnny, little Guy, Joeseph, Byrce, Bryant, Buddy, Jr., (Missy), Mikey, (Tasha) Cory, (Bryanna), Karrianne (Troy), Jamie, Angelica and Todd; many great-grandchildren, Branden, Owen, Autumn, Jax, Alexis, Tanner, Laurel, Elizza, Cory, Jr., Tore, Jr., Harry, Jr. the fifth, Jakari, Jr. and Troy, Jr.

Predeceased by parents, Harry G.W. and Lillian (Hain) Hendrickson; son, Harry G. Hendrickson, Jr.; mother-in-law, Arthur Bertha Saxby (Frazier); fathers-in-law, Arthur Frazier and Harold Saxby; brother-in-law, William Frazier.
