Grant Michael Jamison, 45, of Roscoe, IL passed peacefully and went home to the Lord after courageously fighting a seven-year cancer battle. Born in Rockford, IL to Michael and Dolores (Scheid) Jamison, Sr. He lived in Roscoe with his wife and two sons. He married his wife, Brooke Nicole Byington, on October 16, 2004. Together for 24 years, and married for 20, Brooke was Grant’s whole world. She had the key to his heart and he had hers. He graduated from Boylan Catholic School in 1998, then continued on to an apprenticeship through the IBEW. Grant was a Journeyman Lineman for IBEW Local 196 for 24 years.
Grant and his wife Brooke loved taking out his Harley Davidson motorcycle and going on roads trips. On Sundays, you could find him watching some football or hanging out with his friends. He dearly loved spending time with his friends and family. He liked taking his family boating, and doing all kinds of water sports. Grant was very much an outdoors kind of man; any kind of outdoor activity that he could partake in, he would. There wasn’t a pool party or bonfire that Grant would miss. He was the life of the party and just wanted everyone and himself to have fun. When it came to his boys, nothing made Grant happier than watching one of their football games or other school activities. He was so proud of all they have accomplished. Grant will be dearly missed by so many.
Grant is survived by his wife, Brooke Jamison; sons, Brant and Brock Jamison; parents, Michael Jamison, Sr. and Dolores (Steve) Riggle; father and mother-in-law, Alan Byington and Sheila Eshelman, sisters, Michelle (Eric) Lopez, Melissa (Isaac) Hofman, Lindsay Jamison and Emily (Jeremy) Hache; brothers, Michael (Renee) Jamison, Jr. and Jeremy Riggle; sisters-in-law, Ashlie (Joshua) Myers and Natalie Byington; nieces and nephews, Ella, Avery, Joseph, Julian, Janelle, Kiley, Melora, Alia, Dallas, Ashton, Marissa, Alex, Jacob, Audrey, Salem, Asher, Abriana, Elijah, and Liam.
