Gordon Wesley Mosby

Gordon Wesley Mosby, 91, of Rockford passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. Born January 19, 1927 in Providence, RI to Sigfrid Benjamin and Amanda (Holty) Mosby. Married Irene Sylvia Toft January 28, 1949 in Evanston. Retired Police Officer from the Palatine Police Department. A member of First Free, Rockford, and former member of Arlington Heights Evangelical Free. Gordon loved the Lord and will always be remembered for his integrity. He also was a skilled mason.

Survivors include children, Nancy (William) Mercurio, Joanne (Richard) Olsen, Wendy (David) Nellis, Dan (Terri) Mosby, Beth (Tom) Munnerlyn, John (Anna) Mosby; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jon (Jean) Mosby. Predeceased by wife; grandchildren, Andrew Mercurio, Jason Mosby, Benjamin Mosby; and brother, Benjamin Mosby.

Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory–Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
