Glen A. Pixler passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Born May 16, 1936, in Rockford to Thomas and Dorma (Hutchinson) Pixler, the 2nd youngest of 5 children. Married Carolyn Willcockson on December 23, 1977. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Glen attended West High School, later completing his high school education and becoming an Industrial Engineer.
As a youth, he delivered newspapers and was a soda jerk. He was a driver/salesman for Coca-Cola. He worked at Amerock for 40 years as an Industrial Engineer and foreman. Glen was a jack of all trades trying farming, home rehab, home building and also working on cars and stock car racing. He taught his children many life lessons especially the value of hard work. His death will leave a void that will never be filled but he is now free of his daily pain and suffering—a special thanks to Mercy Health Hospice for their assistance.
He is survived by his loving wife Caroline, sons Kelly, John (Luci), Marty (Chris), and their mother Patricia, stepson Wayne (Cindy), 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Dorma; siblings: John, Jerry, Tommy, and Ruth Pixler Boreham.
