Glen R. Hunt

Glen Ronald Hunt, born September 9, 1939, in Rockford, Illinois, the oldest son of Glen and Mildred Hunt, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 29, 2025.

Glen attended East High School and, at the age of 18, began his career at Rockford Screw Products. He dedicated 44 years of faithful service before retiring. On June 24, 1961, Glen married the love of his life, Joyce Qualman. Together, they built a home and a life on Mulford Road, where they raised their two children, Todd and Robin. Glen and Joyce shared 54 wonderful years together in the home they cherished before Joyce’s passing in 2015.

Known as Glen or Ron, depending on how you met him, he was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and rarely missed watching a game on television. He enjoyed spending time doing puzzles, playing Bingo, dominoes, and Sudoku. His faith was an important part of his life, and he deeply loved his church family, especially his small group at Rock Church.

Glen had a special love for fishing, whether on open water in the summer or ice fishing in the winter. He especially treasured the many trips to Canada shared with his son Todd and friends—memories that brought him great joy.

He is survived by his son, Todd (Vicki) Hunt; daughter, Robin Hunt; granddaughters, Sydney (Aleah) Oas and Tiffany Fuller; sister, Joyce Conrad; sisters-in-law, Nancy Huaracha, Gail Osterberg, and Marilyn (Don) Johnston; along with many nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Hunt; parents, Glen and Mildred Hunt; brother, Gary Hunt; brother-in-law, Jerry Conrad; sister, Lolly Hunt; and sister-in-law, Wilma (Peter) Bruce.

A memorial service will be held on January 10th, 2026, at Rock Church, 6732 Harrison Ave., Rockford, IL 61108, at 11:00 AM, with a memorial visitation starting at 10:00 AM until time of service. A private family burial will follow.
