Jerry Eychaner, 81, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1944, in Rochelle, Illinois, to Floyd Eychaner and Margaret (Fogle) Eychaner.
Jerry grew up in Esmond, Illinois, where he developed the hardworking values and love of the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life. He married Nancy Davis in Rockford, Illinois, in 1980, and they went on to share 45 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and cherished memories.
Jerry dedicated 20 years of his career to Taylor Freezer before retiring. Never one to stay idle, he spent another 10 years working with the Winnebago Park District, where he enjoyed staying active and connecting with others.
Jerry found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for gardening and took great pride in caring for his yard. He loved riding his electric bike, spending time outdoors, and collecting hobby trains, a pastime that brought him many hours of enjoyment. Whether tending his garden or sharing stories with family, Jerry appreciated the everyday moments that made life meaningful.
Jerry is lovingly survived by his wife, Nancy Eychaner; his children, Kelly (Joe) Foy, Jill Giordano, and Jerry (Robin) Eychaner; and his beloved grandchildren, Devin Giordano, Mason Giordano, Henry Foy, Aubrey Foy, and Sophie Eychaner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Margaret Eychaner; and his siblings, Raymond Eychaner, George Eychaner, and Alice Saari.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Narkhede and the staff of Mercy Hospice Clinic for the compassionate care and support they provided to Jerry and his loved ones.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a small, private graveside service for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greenview Cemetery, Esmond, in Jerry's memory.
