Genevieve L. Giles

Genevieve Giles, 97, of Beloit, WI passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2025 at Autumn Lake Nursing Home. She was born November 25, 1927 in Superior, WI to Stanley and Emily Winek. She married her soulmate, Marshall Giles, on July 5, 1947. Her last job was at Freeman Shoe Company, Beloit, WI where she worked several years. She liked cooking and cleaning. She spent many years cleaning her church and helping them make peanut brittle.

Genevieve is survived by her sister, Rosie Samuelson; four sons, Thomas (Tom) and wife Debby (Burtness) of Orfordville, WI, Patrick (Pat) and wife Berneice (Myers) of Roscoe, IL, Michael (Mike) and wife Lori (Morris) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Roger and wife Debra (Morris) of Beloit, WI.  She was blessed with many grandchildren, Krista McVicar (Giles) of Johnson Creek, WI, Timothy Giles of Orfordville, WI, Aaron Giles of Johnson Creek, WI, Nora Achilli (Giles) of Watertown, WI, Davina Pavie (Giles) of Mechanicsville, VA, Melissa Royce (Giles) of Machesney Park, IL, Sandra Harshman (Giles) of Sterling, IL, Benjamin Giles of Chetek, WI, Nicole Behselich (Giles) of Pittsville, WI, Bobbie Knecht (Giles) of Spencer, WI, Nathan Giles of Wisconsin, Brandon Giles of Beloit, WI, April Danielson (Giles) of Beloit, WI; great-grandchildren, Troy Lawrence, Traci Pingel, Thomas Pingel, Griffin Giles, Leeland Giles, Mylee Giles, Stanley Achilli, Abigail Pavie, Jordan Pavie (and wife Haley), Garrett Royce, Jaelynn Harshman, Jaxon Harshman, Austin Giles, Zachary Giles, Brendan Giles, BreeAnne Behselich, Alexis Behselich, Madison Knecht, Reed Knecht, Adrian Giles, Savannah Giles, Jordan Giles, Savanna Giles, Hunter Giles, Nathan Giles Jr, Olivia Giles, Samantha Giles, Lauren Giles, Preston Danielson, Lincoln and Colson Danielson; step-great-grandchildren, Lilly Bear, Xander Achilli, Butch McVicar; great-great-grandchildren, Isaac Lawrence, Jude Lawrence, Easton Giles, Senton, Levi, Malicia and Issac.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe, Henry and Carl; sisters, Treasea and Leona; and one great-grandson, Turner Zimmerman.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main St., Roscoe, IL 61073 with a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial in Floral Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to New Life Tabernacle Church, 5414 Reimer Drive, PO Box 744, Roscoe, IL 61073.
