Gabriel Yates Obituary
Gabriel Yates, 71, of Rockford, passed away to Jesus peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Gabe was born on December 1, 1949 in San Francisco, CA, the son of Kathryn Lungo. He lived all of his life in Rockford.
Loving husband to Patricia Bonavia Yates; father to Anthony (Michelle), Michael (Lisa) and Michelle Gabrielle. Loving grandfather to Emily Ann of Nashville, TN, Anna Marie of Loves Park, Marco Gabriel of Loves Park, Ella Marie of Belvidere, Sophia Ann of Belvidere and Gabriel Joseph of Belvidere. Brother to sisters, Lona Bjelland, Janet Williams, Lana Bozovsky and Teresa Crandall. Survived also by several nieces and nephews, Mark, Kathy and all of Gabe's special employees of Latham Tap family. Predeceased by his mother and brother. Also his mother-and father-in-law, Lucille and Peter Bonavia.
Gabe lived for his family and was so proud of all of them. He married Patricia on February 25, 1967. A special dog Dad to Tanner, Toby and Hunter. Gabe loved to walk his dogs at Rock Valley College. He loved to ride his Harleys, old cars and believe me, Latham Tap our family business. Gabe considered his brother-in-law, Richard Bonavia, a brother and they enjoyed talking politics and sports together. Gabe was a businessman in Rockford for many years and enjoyed every minute of it.
Due to Covid, the family will have a private service. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for a fund to be determined.
