Fred A. Pierce

Fred A. Pierce, 96, of Cherry Valley, Illinois passed away on October 20, 2023. Fred was born on December 13, 1926, in Rockford, the son of Raymond and Anna (Fuhlendorf) Pierce. He graduated from East High School in 1944. Fred married Lois E. Gerke on June 28, 1947, in Janesville, Wisconsin. She predeceased him on December 22, 2002.  

Fred served in the U.S. Navy from December 13, 1944 until July 11, 1947. He was employed by Duplex Products, Inc. as Corporate Traffic Manager for 35 years. Fred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, as well as a member of Masonic Lodge 102, Freeport Scottish Rite, Tebala Temple, and VFW Post 5768. Fred was an avid golfer. 

Survivors include his sister, Naomi (Charles Bietau) of Williamston, Michigan; sons, James (Beverly) Pierce of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Thomas (Jeannie) Pierce of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Meagan Heaton, Christopher Pierce and Julia Stake; great-grandchildren, Katie Grace Heaton, Abigail, Hannah, Josiah and Ruth Ann Stake, as well as Alden, Ainsley and Ava Pierce. 

Fred has loving memories with his dear friend Marilyn.
