Frank Cacciapaglia, 96, of Rockford, passed away on January 29, 2020, surrounded by his adoring family. He was born on October 28, 1923 in Rockford to John and Anna (Prezioso) Cacciapaglia. Frank was a US Army Korean War Veteran and a business owner his entire life. His last business was Hugo’s Tavern on 7th Street for 15 years prior to retiring at the age of 55. He leaves an amazing, strong legacy in his family, who he adored and supported before all else. He was so very proud of all of us, our strong family bond and closeness. Family, above all else, came first.
Staying behind to carry on his legacy are his wife Corrine; daughter, Ann (Bill) Shelton; granddaughters, Jennifer (Bob Walton) Cacciapaglia and Amanda (Jason) Mendeloff; great-grandchildren, Arielle (Jake), Nikolas, Bella and Sammy; great-great-grandsons, Jaxson and Brayden, and special nephews, Bruce (Nancy) Cacciapaglia and Tony (Jose) Sartino. Predeceased in life by his parents and siblings.
Frank taught us all what it means to be loyal, to never give up, and to always take care of one another. We are so very grateful for the gift and blessing of his life, and we will carry him and his lessons in our hearts everyday.
