Frances A. Reinold

Frances Ann Reinold, 78, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2025. Fran was born on October 29, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois, the youngest of five siblings, to Charles and Nellie (Brazis) Ywanauskas. She was a lifelong resident of Rockford and a proud graduate of Rockford West High School, Class of 1965.

On June 29, 1974, Fran married the love of her life, Kurt Reinold, and together they shared 50 blessed years of marriage. Fran was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her.

Fran worked for many years as a receptionist at the law firm of Guyer and Enichen, where she was known for her welcoming presence and friendly demeanor, before retiring. She and Kurt cherished their retirement years, enjoying daytime mini driving adventures and cozy evenings at home watching television—especially American Idol and The Voice. Fran always looked forward to their annual trips to Elkhart Lake and Door County, Wisconsin.

Fran was overjoyed to become a grandmother and was immensely proud of her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was watching them grow and being present for all of their activities and sporting events. She also found peace and happiness tending to the beautiful flowers in her yard and throughout her home. Fran had a special passion for gift-giving and took great pride in making each present uniquely beautiful through her creativity and artistry—always finished with a bow on top.

Fran will be deeply missed by her loving son, Aaron (Sarah) Reinold; her cherished grandchildren, Seth and Sebastian Reinold; her brother, Charles Ywanauskas; her sisters, Mary Ywanauskas and Eleanor Saulsbury; her daughter-in-law’s parents, Jim and Diane Pippel; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt Reinold; her parents, Charles and Nellie Ywanauskas; her brother, John (Pat) Ywanauskas; and her beloved family dog, Lucy.

A memorial service for Fran will be held on January 24, 2026, at Second First Church, 318 N. Church Street, Rockford, Illinois, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow at the Stockholm Inn, 2420 Charles Street, Rockford, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Fran’s memory to the YMCA of the Rock River Valley.
