Flora M Sprecher, 99, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Cottage Grove, WI, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She was born on September 21,1925, in Madison, the seventh child of Henry J. and Eva (Collver) Napper. She was a graduate of Central Bible College (Now Evangel University) in Springfield, MO. Flora began attending the Madison Gospel Tabernacle (now City Church) as a child. She played the organ and was involved in music there for over 40 years and remained an active member until she moved to Rockford in 2014 when she became a member of Rock Church. After moving to Siena Independent Living in Rockford she continued to play the organ for services into her 90’s. Flora met her husband, Edward, at church and they were wed on Feb. 26, 1947, in her parent's home, followed by a honeymoon in California.
In later years, Flora became an integral part of the Missions Committee at City Church and over the years hosted many missionaries in her home who have fond memories of time spent at the farm. Flora found particular delight in having the grandchildren stay with her at the farm many summers. As they became adults she was always interested in what they were doing and looked forward to every birthday and other celebrations.
Flora is survived by sons, John (Rebecca) of Rockford, IL and Paul (Zeph) of Hingham, MA; five grandchildren, Deborah (Danny) Whittaker, Rachel (Brad) Bounds, Joel (Jenn) Sprecher, David Sprecher and Sean Sprecher; five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
