Erica Lynn Montoya

Erica Lynn Montoya, age 47, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Rockford, IL.  She was born on October 14, 1977, in Rockford IL to Eric and Roberta Montoya. She was a 1995 graduate of Boylan Catholic High School. She later became a certified pedorthist at a college in Texas, a career she took pride in. Erica lived a vibrant and sparkling lifestyle. She was truly one of a kind, a unique spirit, who left a lasting mark on everyone she met. Erica was a true fashionista and socialite, known for her impeccable style and her magnetic personality that drew people to her wherever she went. Beyond her glamorous exterior, Erica loved to travel and shop; she was a woman who truly knew how to live. She found joy in the details, from the perfect shade of nail polish to the thrill of discovering unique places to explore. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence lit up every room. She wholeheartedly loved her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her father, Eric (Maria) Montoya; her mother, Roberta “Lynn” Montoya; her sister, Amy (Chris) Thomas; her brother, Sam (Melissa) Montoya; her nieces and nephews, Jessika, Christina, Jacob, and Landon; several uncles, aunts, and cousins. She is predeceased by both her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  Funeral service will be at 10:30am on Monday, June 23, 2025, also in the funeral home.  Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.
