Enrica Gianoli Reitsch, 86, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020 after fighting a long battle against Alzheimer’s. Throughout her life Enrica was a tour de force. Well known and loved throughout the community, she spread love and joy wherever she went. She will always be remembered for her generous spirit, willingness to help others and incredible artistic flare.
She was born in Cadrezzate, Italy and came to this country as a teenager were she attended Muldoon High School. She married Charles Reitsch in 1959 and had had two children – Peter and Elisa. She ran a dress making business for many decades, crafting beautiful handmade clothing for her wonderful customers that she loved so dearly. She cherished the time spent with Chuck at their cabin in Wisconsin. They traveled around the world with the Madison Ski Club and enjoyed their love of skiing well into their later years.
She was a proud member of St. Anskars Episcopal Church. She devoted much of her time to Altar Guild, Bible Study and providing attentive detail to events. Enrica also served the local Al-Anon community faithfully for years.
Her pride and joy were her two grandsons, Daniel and Michael. She enjoyed the special times they had together and was a very proud grandma.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lincolnshire and Transitions Hospice for their very kind and compassionate care.
