Elizabeth M. Bruder

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Elizabeth Marie Bruder (Jones) who left this world surrounded by love on January 7, 2025.  She was the cherished daughter of Marshall and Marilyn Jones, who now welcome her into Heaven alongside her beloved brothers, Daniel and Matthew.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Kevin Mengelt, and is survived by her devoted husband, James Bruder, with whom she shared 22 wonderful years in Loves Park, Illinois.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons, Mark and Dennis Mengelt; her grandchildren, Annie and Kevin Mengelt; her brothers, Dean, Brian, Steven, and Bobby; and her sisters, Marsha, Patty, Marianne, Nancy, and Christi.  She was also blessed with two sisters by marriage, Karen and Elaine, a daughter by marriage, Cindy, who all became a cherished part of her life.  Elizabeth was a deeply loved aunt to countless nieces and nephews, whose lives she enriched with her kindness and warmth.

Elizabeth’s joyful spirit shone through in everything she did.  She was known for her boundless positivity, creativity, and thoughtfulness.  Whether through the beautifully crafted cards she made by hand or the carefully wrapped gifts she delighted in giving, she found joy in making every occasion special.  More than anything, she made people feel loved, and that kindness remains her greatest legacy.

While our hearts ache with her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her parents and that her memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.  All who loved her are welcome to attend.  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her honor.
