Eldoris L. Palm

Eldoris L. Palm, 82, of Rockford passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023. "Eldie" and her twin sister Ilene were born on July 8, 1941 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to King and Arla Merrell. Eldie was a long-time member of Berean Baptist Church and worked for Berean Christian School for over 30 years as a teacher and librarian, retiring in 2019. She is remembered fondly by many former students. Eldie was an adoring Minnesota Vikings fan, loved watching old "western" shows, and kept herself busy with knitting and crochet projects.

Eldie is lovingly survived by her children, Douglas Palme of Wright City, MO, Sandra (Dennis) Conn of Rehovot, Israel, Kristi (Doug) Sosnowski of Caledonia, IL, Kandace (Rick) Bartscher of Rockford, Michele (Jim) Gibble of Mt. Morris, IL; grandchildren, Brittinnee (Derek), Tristan, Alison, Jeremiah, Thomas, Daniel, Rebekah (Liran), Ruth (Yotam), Susannah, Esther, Sofia, Aaron, Elizabeth (Dakota), Emily, Juliana (Connor), Joshua (Olivia), Olivia, and Lukas; great – grandchildren, Lea, Mason, Evelyn, Addison, Dorian, Amelia;  sister, Karen (Steve) Nettleton of Idaho.

Eldie is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Waldo and Wayne Merrell; sisters, Ilene Langdon, Judy Smith, and Barbara Langdon.

A visitation for Eldie will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Honquest Funeral Home with Crematory Mulford-Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. Loves Park, IL 61111. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow at Willwood Cemetery.
