Edward A. Hook, 85, of Loves Park, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was born on January 2, 1939 in Clinton, IA, to Fred and Bernice Hook. Ed graduated in 1957 from York Community High School in Thomson, IL. He then served in the U.S. Army for two years. He married Sharon Mahala (Shallenburger) Hook on August 10, 1963 in Fort Monroe, VA. Ed was a farmer for over 40 years. He enjoyed metal working and welding.
He is survived by his children, Troy Edward Hook, Cindy Lea Snuggs, Paul Allen Hook and Ray Gene Hook; grandchildren, Jedidiah, Brice, Brady, Alexandra, Sean, Genevieve, Miah, Bella, Lila, Hannah, David, Jarod and Collin; great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and brothers, Richard and Larry Hook. He is predeceased by his wife, Sharon; parents; sister, Cheryl Paston and brother, Dwayne Hook.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am with a visitation from 10:00am until the service on Friday, November 8, 2024 at York Baptist Church, 2058 Scenic Bluff Road, Thomson, IL 61285. Burial in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Red Cross Hurricane Relief, redcross.org/donate.
