Dot Opperman

Dot Opperman, 88, of Rockford, IL, passed away at home on Saturday, April 13, 2024. She was born September 16, 1935 in Arab, Alabama. Dot met and married the love of her life, Charles, in Cocoa Beach, FL; they moved to Dubuque, IA, where they raised three sons.

Dot spent her entire life serving her family and others. Dot loved God, spoiling her two puppies, gardening, the Packers (and the Crimson Tide and Hawkeyes), cooking, crocheting, and watching British murder mysteries, cooking shows and survivalist shows. She was a great friend to all.

Dot is survived by her son, Jay (Suzanne) of Wauconda, IL, Jon (Mary White) of Rockford, IL, and LTC (ret.) Jeffrey K. (Julie) of Papillion, NE; grandchildren, Shaun (Sara), Josh, Fallon, Jamie (Adeline), Missy (Rich), Jacob, Emily (Tyler), Joseph, Niko and Katherine; great-grandchildren, London, Lana, Chandler, Sadie, Riley and Benjamin; sister, Irene; and nieces and nephews. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sister, Sue; sister-in-law, Donna; and her brothers.
