Dorothy Ruth Lukasiewicz

Dorothy Ruth Lukasiewicz, 98, of Rockford, passed away peacefully April 26, 2023 at Amberwood Care Center in Rockford. Dorothy was born June 25, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, IL to her parents, Grover Terry and Mary (Sowers) Terry. Dorothy attended schools in Capron, IL growing up. She went on to work in patient accounts at Rockford Memorial Hospital for 26 years. 

Dorothy had many hobbies, she loved getting outside in the sunshine and going water skiing. She also enjoyed the guitar and signing, especially to country music. Above all, she truly loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Dixie Lynn Leveroos and Janice Lee (Leonard) McKinster; grandchildren, Matt (Donya) Ethridge, Sara Ethridge, Kari (Mark) Gurnsey, and Ranee (Dennis) Steele; great-grandchildren, Abbey Ethridge, Kaitlyn Gurnsey, Emma Gurnsey, Caitlin and Cassidy; many nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Walt Lukasiewicz; son, Danny Ethridge; parents, Grover and Mary Terry; sisters, Avis, Betty, and Mary Lou.

Memorial service for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory- Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
