Doris Fisher Obituary

Doris (Dori) Fisher peacefully passed away at the age of 95 on July 14, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Roscoe, Illinois.

Dori was born in Belvidere, Illinois, on November 18, 1930, to Edwin and Helen (Harnish) McLean. She was a graduate of Hononegah High School, where she met and later married Richard Fisher on February 10, 1950.

Dori was a homemaker and very involved with the Roscoe Methodist Church. She also enjoyed her Friday garage sales and monthly lunches with her friends.

Family was everything to Dori. She enjoyed sharing stories and baking pies for the numerous family gatherings throughout the years. Dori loved and missed her sisters very much; she would frequently comment that she was the last of the McLean sisters.

Dori is survived by her sons John (Brenda) Fisher of Roscoe and Doug (Mary Jo Marshall) Fisher of Kingston, Illinois; grandchildren Joel (Kate Barr) Fisher, Andrew (Petra) Fisher of Seattle, and Catherine (Brad) Heuer of Roscoe; great-grandchildren Graham and Clark Heuer; sister-in-law Donna Granath of Rockton; brother-in-law Harry (Juanita) Fisher of Minnesota as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by parents her Edwin and Helen McLean; husband Dick Fisher; sisters: Helen George, Darleen Green, Catherine Scott, Shirley Dewey and Audrey Curatolo; sister-in-law Peggy Hayelan; brothers-in-law Donald George, Ronald Schewe, Norbert Green, John Dewey, Alden Scott, Frank Curatolo, Dick Granath, Wayne Hayelan; nephews Donald George Jr., Dennis Turner, Larry Schewe, Tom George and niece Barb George.

There will be a private cremation and burial. A celebration of Dori’s life will be held at the Roscoe United Methodist Church with date and time to be determined later.
