Dora L. Kolthoff-Brasher, of Rockford, Illinois, went to be with Jesus on May 21, 2026. She was born in Rockford on April 12, 1972, to Bob and Carol Kolthoff.
Dora attended local schools and was a graduate of Harlem High School. She had a joyful spirit and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Dora loved music, singing, and karaoke, and she especially enjoyed art and coloring. She also looked forward to participating in activities and events where she lived, especially bingo games and pizza parties shared with friends.
Above all, Dora treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She was a loyal friend, a devoted daughter, and a loving sister whose kindness and warmth touched many lives.
Dora is lovingly survived by her parents, Bob and Carol Kolthoff; her sisters, Christine (Don) Apgar and Dana (Chuck) Myers; her sister-in-law, Jackie Wright; her nieces and nephews, Courtney (Warren) English, Justine Myers, Kelsey (Brice) Terpstra, Ross Apgar, Lydia Myers, Rece Apgar, Collin Myers, and Ryen Apgar; as well as her special friends, Victoria and Shannon.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Kolthoff.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Forest City Rehab for the kindness, friendship, and care they shared with Dora. Their companionship brought comfort and meaning to her life during her time there.
A visitation for Dora will be held on Friday, May 29th, at Honquest Family Funeral Home from 10 to 11 am. A funeral service will take place at 11 am. Following services at the funeral home, her burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:15 pm
