Dona Joy Zopp

Dona Joy Zopp, 94, of Roscoe, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.  She was born in Egan, IL on August 25, 1930 to William and Opal (Johnson) Myers.  She graduated from Leaf River High School in 1948.  Dona was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was a Postmaster for 35 years in Leaf River and Roscoe.  She enjoyed bridge, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.  

She is survived by her sons, Erick (Jane) Beard, Mark Beard and Wesley Dixon; grandchildren, John-Mark (Amy Jo) Beard, Matthew (Amber) Beard and Seth (Kelly) Beard; 7 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild "on the way"; sister, Kathleen Motter; and 11 nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents and one brother.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am with a visitation from 10:00am until the service on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073.  Burial in North Grove Christian Cemetery, Egan, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
