It’s sad, but life is full of sudden goodbyes…
Don Lee Olsen “Olē”, born February 19th, 1960, passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in Roscoe, IL, on December 26th, 2025.
Don received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Rockford College. Starting at 18 years old, he worked for the same company, Collins Aerospace, as a quality specialist until retiring over 40 years later. Don met his current wife, Lori Olsen, at work. They married on July 3rd, 2017, building a life of love and laughter. Neither ever wanted to remarry, but their hearts knew a second chance was there.
Known for his quick wit, contagious laugh, and fierce strength, Olē was a loving husband, caring father, proud grandfather, and devoted friend. He enjoyed traveling and loved spending time outdoors in the sun. In his downtime, he loved reading about history and watching movies; he always quoted Forrest Gump.
A precious cluster of memories his children will hold dear is how he taught them to fish. It was a hobby Don loved that created so much joy and cherished times.
He loved his family and friends and will be missed.
Survived by his wife, Lori Olsen; children Corey Olsen, Kaitlyn (Dean) Rocha; grandchildren, Adalyn and Cody Olsen, Marley, Zion, and Damian Rocha; nephew, Jeff (Michelle) Scheri, and their children. Predeceased by his parents, Enoch Olsen and Louise (Rhodes) Olsen, and his sister, June E. Scheri.
No services have been planned at this time.
