Diane Streit

Diane Mary Streit (Blonski) passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2025, at 10:15am. Diane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by so many; to know Diane was to love her. Diane was born on July 23, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended St. Francis High School, graduated in 1972, and went on to become a registered nurse and worked as a nurse for 40 years. On July 12, 1988, she married Kurt Streit, her husband of 36 years.

Diane had several passions, her favorite of which was spending time with her two grandsons. Some of her favorite memories were taking them fishing and camping. She loved to bake and decorate cookies. If you were lucky enough to try them, you know how much time and love was put into them! On Sunday afternoons, she loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers, a team of which she was a part stock owner. Diane was a master trivia player, especially when it came to her favorite genre of 60’s Doo Wop and movie trivia. You would often hear her quoting The Sopranos and The Godfather. Diane loved spending time and laughing with her sister. They enjoyed going shopping and to the casino.

Diane is survived by her husband, Kurt Streit; daughter, Cara Adams (Brad); son, Michael; grandsons, Brody and Rylan Adams; brother, Ken (Ellen) Blonski; sister, Margaret (Jeff) Redfern; brother, Gary Blonski; sister-in-law, Debra (John) Meller; sister-in-law, Dee (Mark) Serkowski; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Chester and Natalie Blonski; in-laws, James Streit and Nedra Streit. As her father would say, she loved being a part of this “great organization”.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Loves Park Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111, at 2:30 PM, with a memorial visitation starting at 1:00 PM until time of the service. Fr. Wentink will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
