Diane Kay (McCumber) Molinari, 68, of Belvidere, IL, passed on Friday, April 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Diane was born on October 26, 1952, in Watseka, IL. She married the love of her life, Anthony Molinari, on March 27, 1982 in Glen Ellyn, IL and they were happily married for nearly 40 years.
Diane is survived by her mother, Marcella (Percefull) Ashmore; husband, Anthony; their five children, Darcy (Randy) Milder, Jennifer (Christopher) Maul, Anthony Molinari, SherryAnn (Benjamin) Balliett, Sarah (Gregory) Powell; her dearest friend, Debbie Thompson; and brother, Don McCumber. Diane is the proud Nanie of nine wonderful grandchildren, Gavin, Aleks, Logan, Sophia, Anthony, Elizabeth, Aria, Selah and Cameron. Diane was lovingly known as “Nanie,” “Mama-Lee,” “Auntie Diane,” “Di,” and “Mama-Mols.” Her family meant everything to her.
Diane was preceded in death by her grandma, Berniece Percefull; father, Jack McCumber; step-father, Harold Ashmore; brother, Bill McCumber; and infant sister, SherryAnn McCumber.
Diane earned a nursing degree from the College of DuPage and enjoyed her work as a nurse at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for nearly 35 years. After retirement, Diane loved visiting her children and grandchildren, and spent much of her time in her happy place at her “little Florida house.” Diane had many hobbies and talents, including knitting/crocheting, Zumba, scrapbooking, gardening, cake decorating, reading, scuba diving, water skiing and she had the moves on the dance floor. Crocheting heirlooms for loved ones brought her so much joy.
She was loved by all who knew her – she was our dear friend, mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and her most precious role, Nanie.
Our family is forever grateful to the doctors and staff at OSF, including Doctors DiSanti and Korkmaz, as well as Heather and Transitions for their excellent care.
