DeEtta Louise Barton, 79, of Machesney Park, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2020. Dee was born on February 27, 1941 in Rochelle, IL. She moved to Rockford and began work at Lindy’s as a waitress. It was there she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Barton, on June 1, 1956. They later married on November 17, 1956, and spent 64 years together. They lived most of their lives in Machesney Park, IL, where they raised their four children. Dee was a devoted wife and mother. She was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was one of the most important things to her, alongside of her faith in the Lord. She was kind and gentle and loved to help others. Her grandchildren most enjoyed family dinners at grandmas on the holidays and family gatherings. She loved having her home filled with family. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her husband, William (Bill) Barton; four children, Rick (Regina) Barton, Tammy Steiner, Annette DuBois, and Karla Scott, along with her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Sue) Plasters, Carla Ballew, and Jill Patton.
