Dawn Lindsay Obituary

Dawn Elaine Lindsay, age 73, of Argyle, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord and was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Terry R. Lindsay, on June 28, 2025.  Born on June 1, 1952, to Bruce and Doris (Quitno) Baxter, Dawn was raised in the Rockford area and graduated from Guilford High School. She married the love of her life, Terry, on April 2, 1977, in Iowa. Together, they shared 28 wonderful years of marriage, filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Dawn devoted much of her career to Swedish American Hospital, where she worked as a dedicated unit clerk until her retirement in 2012. Her co-workers would often say Dawn was the life of the office, always making work so much fun and feel less like work. Outside of her work, she was a woman of many passions. She found great joy in gardening, crafting, cooking, and baking — always with a creative and generous spirit. Whether she was baking cakes for family’s birthdays, mounds of cookies for Christmas, or just making sure her family had a home cooked meal for dinner, she just adored caring for her family, especially her grandbabies. Her grandchildren were the light of her eye and her reason to keep pushing through when her husband died.  Her favorite moments were those spent at the family’s cherished summer retreat on Castle Rock Lake in Wisconsin, surrounded by nature and loved ones.

Above all, Dawn was a devoted mother and proud grandmother. Her five grandchildren were the light of her life, and her love for them knew no bounds.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Brock Lindsay, Clark (Emilie) Lindsay, and Natalie Lindsay (Branden Manees); her adored grandchildren, Zoey, Max, Jackson, Aspen, and Ellerie; her sister, Tracy Baxter; her brother, Brent (Mary) Baxter; nephews, Corey (Val) Black and Andrew Baxter; her lifelong best friend, Diane Weston; and her beloved cat, Sophie.  Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Terry; her parents; and her sister, Jill Black.

Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be missed deeply and remembered always.
