David E. Hanstrom

David Hanstrom, 76, of Rockford, IL passed away November 23, 2022. He was born on August 5, 1946 in Rockford, the son of Harold and Corinne (Johnson) Hanstrom. A Hiawatha High School graduate, he served in the U.S. Army. Married Linda Aves and later married Teresa Shopnitz. His career was in food sales. David was an active member of Faternal Order of Eagles, previously serving as State President. He enjoyed Chicago Cubs, Bears and the musical groups Chicago and Eagles.
 

Survived by his wife, Teresa; brother, Glenn (Linda) Hanstrom of Milan; sister, Karen (Carl) Needham of Kirkland; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; daughter, Darla Hanstrom; stepson, Ricky Aves; and sisters, Charlene Clark and Barbara Scroeder.
 

Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the Eagles Club, 3829 11th St., Rockford, IL 61109. A luncheon will be served after the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for David's charities.
