David M. Crawford, 71, of Roscoe, passed away too soon on April 9, 2024. He was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather, and friend to many.
David was generous, told it like it was, and loved his family fiercely. He will be dearly missed by many, but most by his loving wife, Angela, his daughter Stephanie (Crawford) Tenconi, son-in-law Jon, and his three beloved grandchildren, Francesca, Jonathan (J.D.) and Dominic. His grandchildren will forever remember geode hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, gardening, cooking, looking at ‘rocks’ and traveling with their G.D.
David’s passion for and extensive knowledge of rocks and minerals began at the age of 16 and quickly grew from there. He traveled the world learning and exploring the industry and built his career around honesty and integrity, becoming the go-to guy for all things minerals related, garnering him great respect within the community. He was an intelligent, knowledgeable and well-traveled man, proudly serving in the 101 st Airborne during the Vietnam War.
David will be remembered for his no-fuss attitude, handyman skills, and his love of nature, Guinness, playing cards, the avantgarde, good wine, crossword puzzles, The Stones, and most of all, his family.
