David L. Adkins

David L. Adkins, 73, of Rockford, passed away from a sudden illness on Thursday, October 31, 2024 with his family by his side.  He was born on May 16, 1951 in Beloit, WI to Tom and Dori (Thompson) Adkins.  He married Theresa Mohr on October 4, 1980.  Dave worked at RWS since May, 2011.  He was an avid outdoor enthusiast and he loved hunting birds and deer.  He loved his peanuts (granddaughters) and was always working on something around the house.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Terrie Adkins; his father, Tom Adkins; daughter, Kelli (Patrick) Shoemaker; grandchildren, Ryley, McKinley and Ireland Shoemaker; nephews, David Mangan, Patrick DiVenti and Philip Harmon; and niece, Marlena Nelson.  Predeceased by his mother, Dori Adkins; and sisters, Pam Harmon and Julie Mangan.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Honquest Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111, at 5:00 PM with a visitation starting at 3:00 PM until the time of service.
