Darian M. Bunnell

Darian Michael Bunnell, 22, of Rockford, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, January 18, 2025.  He was born on June 13, 2002 in Rockford to Clint Thatcher and Amber Bunnell-Sallis.  He was a graduate of East High School Class of 2020.  He was the owner, creator and designer of Different Streetwear, a clothing line.  He loved to play basketball, creating designs for his clothing line, and spending time with his beloved daughter.  

He is survived by his daughter, Dahlia Bunnell; parents, Michael and Amber Sallis and Clint Thatcher; sisters, Kara Sallis and Ruby Thatcher; brothers, Michael and Elijawon Sallis; the love of his life, Jasmine Covarrubias; grandparents, Donald and Carole Johnson; uncles, Justin (Charlotte) Bunnell and Andrew (Samantha) Schacht; aunt, Ashley Caglione; grandfather, Jeffrey Bunnell; numerous great-aunts and uncles and cousins.  He is predeceased by his paternal great-grandfather, Lyman Schacht; maternal grandmother, Penni Bunnell; brother, Tramone Smith; uncle, Cordell Davis; cousin, Jay Meier; and best friend, Gaillen Baker.

The family would like to thank all of the OSF St. Anthony Hospital staff and one special nurse, Alex, who went above and beyond for the family. 

Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd. Loves Park, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. 

Special pallbearers are Michael Sallis, Nick Clark, Lucas Smith, Devion Fair, Andreis Mangruem, Angelo McCall, Marcus Davis and Nasiirr Williams.  Honorary pallbearers are Elijawon Sallis, Isreal Covarrubias, Will Robinson, Elijah Dock, Christian Olivares, Noah Schacht, Demarion Friar and David Blan.
