Daniel W. Keen

Daniel W. Keen, 61, of Rockford passed away October 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Dan was born on December 9, 1959 in Rockford, the son of Wayne and Jean (Bates) Keen. He was a graduate of Guilford High School Class of 1977. Dan married the love of his life, Kimberly Acord, on September 2, 1978 in Rockford. He was employed by Rockford Fastener for 35 years. Dan loved all types of music and was often found in the center of the dance floor or with a mic on the karaoke stage. He also enjoyed boating and was happiest on the water. Another passion of Dan’s was grilling. He loved smoking meats and preparing meals for friends and family. Most of all, Dan loved spending time with family and friends, who were the center of his world.

Survivors include wife of 43 years, Kim Keen; daughters, Krystle (Thomas) Weightman, Angela (James) Dock; grandchildren, Kyrin, Journee and Jeeona Dock, Alivia and Easton Weightman; father, Wayne Keen; brother, Kevin (Debbie) Keen; and several loving extended family members. Predeceased by mother, Jean Keen.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Stateline Church, 601 N. Perryville Road, Rockford, immediately followed by a visitation from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Per Dan’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6:00 pm -10:00 pm in the Lombardi Club Event Room, 209 Olive Street, Rockford.
