Dale D. Watkins

Dale D. Watkins, 58, of Machesney Park, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born on May 26, 1959 in Rockford to Doyle D. and Helen Marie (Franks) Watkins. Dale was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Aside from riding motorcycles, Dale had a love for cooking. This made him a talented chef even so completing his own cookbook. For many years cooking was his passion but as time went on he took a different path. Dale opened up his own business, Watkins Floors and More. When you think of Dale, you think of laughter. 

Survivors include, his children, Angela (Ben) Visgar and Cody Watkins; girlfriend, Kimberly Taylor; grandchildren, Serenity Visgar, Cole Updike and Harmony Clason; sister, Della Watkins; brother, Don Watkins; many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Douglas Watkins and Danny Watkins; previous girlfriend, Jeanie. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in Honquest Family Funeral Homes with Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Rd., Loves Park, Illinois 61111 with Pastor Anthony Maynard officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
