Daisy A. Jalbert

Daisy Ann Jalbert, 90, of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1935, in Princeton, Indiana, to Ora and Freda (Pemberton) Mason.

Daisy graduated from Patoka High School, where she was elected as Homecoming Queen in 1952. In 1972, she moved to Loves Park, Illinois, and later worked for Schneck Aviation for several years.

Daisy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cooking for family and friends, tending to her flowers, and watching the birds that visited her yard, particularly hummingbirds and orioles. Daisy enjoyed watching football, especially cheering on the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame teams. She was also an avid fan of The Price Is Right. Daisy never turned down a trip to the casino.

Daisy was devoted to her family and cherished every opportunity to gather with her loved ones. Some of her happiest moments were spent camping or sitting around a campfire with family. Creating lasting memories with her children and grandchildren brought deep joy to her life. She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Daisy is survived by her children, Dennis (Rose) Frederick, Debbie (Terry) Kuhlman, Darwin Frederick, Donnie Frederick, and Joe (Jen) Jalbert; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Imogene Butler; three nieces and two nephews; as well as her special friends, Dave Arbogast and his family, Jan Smith, and the Frederick families of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Freda Mason; her beloved husband, Paul Jalbert; and her brother, Gerald Mason.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Mercyhealth, as well as the staff of Northern Illinois Hospice for their compassionate care. Special thanks are given to Nick Soria for the comfort, kindness, and support he provided to Daisy and her family during this difficult time.

 visitation for Daisy will take place on Thursday, June 25th, at Honquest Family Funeral Home, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe, IL 61073 from 10:00am until noon. Her burial will take place after the visitation at Roscoe Township Cemetery.
