Curtis J. Tillman

Curtis J. Tillman, 65, of Rockton, IL passed away suddenly June 3, 2023. He was born in Osage, Iowa on February 25, 1958, to his parents, Daryl and Ester (Hawkins) Tillman.

Curtis attended schools in Clarion, Iowa and graduated from Clarion High School. Curtis made the move to Rockton, IL from Clarion, Iowa in 1976, and spent the rest of his life in Rockton. Curtis married his one true love, Ann R. (Ruggles) Tillman in Caledonia, IL on December 10, 1994. Together, they raised 3 beautiful children. They were members of City First Church in Rockford, IL.

Curtis owned his own company called All Trucks USA, where he sold commercial trucks. When he wasn’t working, Curtis had a deep-rooted passion for stock car racing. He raced stock cars in Rockford, IL for many years and brought home many trophies. He was a member of the City First Church Legacy Team and Racers for Christ. Above all else, Curtis loved spending quality time with his family. He will be dearly missed by so many.

Survived by his wife, Ann (Ruggles) Tillman; children, Josiah Tillman, Andrea Ruggles, and Lee (Liz) Zook Jr.; grandchildren, Callee and Enoch Zook; brother, Daryl Tillman.

Preceded in death by his parents, Daryl and Ester Tillman; sister, Rhoda Tillman.

A visitation for Curtis will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at City First Church, 5950 Spring Creek Rd., Rockford, IL 61114. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at City First Church with a short visitation starting at 9:30 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gideons International in his honor.
