Constance “Connie” Mary Moore, 67, of Rockton passed away August 19, 2023, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Connie was born to Vernon and Verona Fischer on October 2, 1955, in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Boylan High School and was working at Shakey’s Pizza when she met Michael Moore. Connie and Mike married on August 28, 1976. She was employed as an in-home daycare provider while raising her five children before finishing her working years as a cashier at Hilander in Roscoe. Connie loved her children dearly and was passionate about them being hard-working, self-reliant, and accountable. She loved her grandchildren even more deeply but with expectations limited to them eating junk food, making messes, occasionally breaking household items, and otherwise dutifully repaying her children for the shenanigans of their youth. Parkinson’s Disease took much of the quality from her life long before it took her life, but she faced it as bravely as anyone could expect and was defiant to the last.
She is survived by her children, Patrick (Brynn) Moore of Roscoe, Jonathan (Nicole) Moore of Caledonia, Brendan Moore of Roscoe, Mary (Brian) Wicker of Machesney Park, and Anna Moore of Loves Park, along with her brother, Kenneth (Carol) Fischer formerly of Rockford and Sylvia LaBree formerly of Roscoe, and numerous grandchildren and friends. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Verona; husband, Mike; sister, Sandy; and brothers, Myron and Leon Fischer.
Her family sincerely thanks everyone who loved and cared for her over the years, especially her dear friend Alice (Dave) Sutkay. There isn’t a person in the world with a better friend than our mom had in Allie.
