Cody Curran Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cody William Curran, who left this world on July 4, 2026, at the age of 27.

Cody, known to many as “Trill,” was a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend whose presence left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He had a kind heart, an infectious smile, and a personality that could light up a room. He loved deeply, laughed often, and had a way of making people feel like they belonged.

Like many, Cody faced personal challenges throughout his life. He met those struggles with moments of courage, hope, and determination, and he was surrounded by people who never stopped believing in him. While addiction became part of his journey, it was never the measure of the man he was. Those who loved Cody will remember his generous spirit, his sense of humor, his compassion, and the many good memories he created.

Cody leaves behind his devoted mother, Kristina; his siblings, William, Peter, Tiffani (Ernie) Mendoza, and Cole; his grandmother, Barbara Bedo; Timothy Kohmstedt, who was a father figure and lifelong friend to Cody; his beloved cat, Rufus; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship. He was welcomed into eternity by those who preceded him in death, including his father, William.

His family asks that Cody be remembered not for the way he died, but for the way he lived, the love he shared, and the hope he inspired in others. May his memory remind us all to extend compassion to those who are struggling and to cherish every moment with the people we love.

Cody will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Honquest Funeral Home, 4311 N. Mulford Road in Loves Park, on Friday, August 7th from 5:00–8:00 p.m. In lieu of a formal service, family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Cody’s life. From 7:30–8:00 p.m., anyone who would like to speak or share a story about Cody is warmly welcomed to do so.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to an organization dedicated to addiction recovery, overdose prevention, or mental health support, in Cody’s honor.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
