Clara Martin

Clara Martin, 91, of Rockford passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. Born December 3, 1926 in Guion, AR to Samuel Johnathon and Lillie Alice (Threet) Robins. Married J.A. Martin on September 18, 1948 in Hoxie, AR. Member of City First Church, Rockford for 70 years. Clara was a wonderful seamstress, sewing various types of clothing including wedding dresses. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, ceramics and was an avid reader.

Survivors include children, Patricia Ann Sparks of Rockford, Glenn Wayne Martin of Gilmer, TX; grandchildren, Bridget Sparks, Colleen (Ronald) DuFoe, Gretchen (David) Gould, Adam Martin, Eric Martin; great grandchildren, Kyra Sparks, Clara Sparks, Holly Sparks, Harley Martin; siblings, Arthur (Shirley) Robins, Richard (Helen) Robins, Pearl Reagan, Herbert (Carol) Robins, Walter Robins; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband; and siblings, Etta, Lela, Vina, Hazel, and Isaac.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with Pastor Dennis Abbott officiating. A visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park. Memorials may be given to the family to be used in Clara’s name.
