We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Loves Park
Christian B. Herold, Jr., 65, of Rockford passed peacefully in the early morning of September 9 after a long-fought difficult battle with cancer. He was the most amazing husband, father, Papa, and friend that anyone could ever ask for. He was someone that anyone he knew could turn to for advice or just a listening ear. He was an avid fisherman and so is his whole family. He made us all understand that it is rarely about the fish. He did work that he loved in construction and woodworking for over 40 years and shared his knowledge and passion with many. He loved baseball and especially his Yankees. He was an Eagles Club member for many years and enjoyed playing on the horseshoe league. He also enjoyed bowling on Friday nights with a great group of guys for many years. His family was everything to him and he loved us all fiercely and we will miss him terribly. He just celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2022.
Chris is survived by his wonderful wife of 45 years, Cathy Herold; daughter, Lacy (David) Morris; son, Chris (Amy) Fausett; grandson and best friend forever, Logan Morris; grandsons, Steven Fausett and Zach Silva; granddaughter, Adriana Silva; great-granddaughter, Maddie Fausett; sisters, Linda (Bobby) Burch and Nancy Eisentraeger; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chris was predeceased by his father, Christian B. Herold, Sr.; mother, Louise Herold; and brother, David Herold.
The family would like to thank Promedica Hospice and specifically Chris’ nurse Monica for all her help and guidance in the last weeks.
Please join us in your favorite baseball attire for the funeral service at 11:30am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N.
