Charles H. Coles

Charles Herbert Coles, 93, passed away in his home in Rockford on April 12, 2015 after a long bout with cancer.   “Charlie” was the son of Charles Coles and Gladys Bray.   Charlie raised his family in Naperville, and previously lived in Downers Grove.  He was a WWII veteran, serving in Cairo, Egypt.  Charlie took the ownership of the downtown Chicago printer “DeLang Coles & Company” in 1947 from his father, until he retired.  He spent the last ten years in Rockford, and enjoyed time spent with friends and family. 

He is survived by his sons, William (Gwen) Coles, Robert (Maria) Coles, and Bruce (Dee) Santorini; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and former wife, Joann Coles.  Predeceased by sister, Elizabeth Coles and wife, Genevieve Coles.

Memorial service from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, April 26 at the GPAC Center, 400 Heart Blvd., Loves Park, IL 61111.   Memorials to the American Cancer Society.
