Carole Kuznitsky Jones Obituary

Carole Kuznitsky Jones, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in the care of the wonderful staff at Highview in the Woodlands Sheltered Care Unit in Rockton, IL. Carole was born in Chicago, IL to William and Helen (Bulakowski) Langer. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1955. Carole worked for the U.S. Navy Audit Office, Pacific Insurance, and served many positions within Rockwell International before retiring in 1997. In addition to her office jobs, Carole worked part time as a waitress for over 20 years at the Cloverleaf Restaurant in Bloomingdale, IL. It was there that she met a customer named Raymond Jones and their love story began. They married on June 17, 1985 and had nearly 38 happy years together before Ray’s passing in April, 2023.

Carole loved music and got to have a front row seat when her family shared the love of music that she had passed down to them. She found great joy listening to her son, Michael Anderson and his son, Neil in their music ministry at Hope Church in Wisconsin. She always looked forward to watching her grandkids, Lee and Sam Ross, in their various performances in youth theatre productions and school choir concerts and musicals. She loved introducing herself as “Mrs. Ross’s mom” when she would attend choir concerts and theatre productions at Durand Schools where her daughter, Stacy teaches. In addition to these events that brought Carole great joy, she also loved getting to watch her grandson, Nathan earn his saber when he was a member of The Royal Rangers.

After retirement, Carole and Ray moved to Loves Park, IL and very quickly got involved in their new community. They were faithful members of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rockford and spent much of their time volunteering in various capacities with the church. Carole and Ray looked forward to Bible study and cherished all of the friends that they made in their new church home. In addition to volunteering at Mount Olive, Carole enjoyed volunteering for LSSI Respite Care and the Red Cross. When Carole was not serving others, she loved working in her garden, sewing, bunco with friends, and traveling (not nearly enough) to visit family spread from coast to coast. She also lived to make sure her loved ones were well fed and always made sure her grandkids had their favorite treats - usually chocolate chip cookies - whenever they came to visit.

Carole is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray; parents, Bill and Helen Langer; her son, Steven Anderson; her brothers, Joseph and Bill Langer; and her sister, Patricia. Carole is survived by her son, Michael (Karen) Anderson; daughter, Stacy (Dan) Ross; and son, Keith (Sheri) Jones; grandchildren, Neil and Nathan Anderson and Lee and Sam Ross; sister-in-love, Vicki Langer; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a visitation starting at 9:00 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2001 N. Alpine, Rockford, IL 61107. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice who provided comfort to both Carole and Ray in the time before their passing.
