Carole D. Pace

Carole D. Pace, 81, beloved mother and grandmother of Rockford, IL passed away March 24, 2023 after a short illness. Born March 30, 1941 in Rockford, IL, daughter of Ernfred and Iva Mae (Kniskern) Olson.  Married Lionel "Dude" Pace in Rockford on November 21, 1959.  Attended East High School and Rock Valley College.  She enjoyed baby-sitting her grandchildren, bingo, camping, cooking and baking. She was an incredible cook and baker.  Everyone loved her fantastic Butter Pie and Deviled Eggs. She worked a variety of jobs, but her last job was her favorite as a certified alcohol and addiction counselor.

Survivors include her three sons, Philip (Cheryl) Pace, Michael (Stephanie) Pace, Daniel (Rhonda) Pace; siblings, Dianne (Jim) Haugen, Claude Olson, Ted (Terri) Olson, Trish (Rick) Cutright; grandchildren, Carole (Jeffery) Gauthier, Sarah Pace, Daniel Pace Jr. Colette Pace, Brigette Pace; several nieces and nephews; her best friend since 4th grade, Jan (Terwilliger) Brown; her favorite cat, Ali; and her honorary daughter and caretaker, Pam Williams.  Predeceased by her husband; sister, Emily (Ron) Boese and her parents.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2023 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park with a visitation from 5:00 PM until time of service.
