Carol L. Trotter, 76, of Roscoe left us unexpectedly on September 2, 2024. She was born in Melrose Park, IL, on October 3, 1947, the only daughter of Paul and Lucille (Holm) Fitzner. A graduate of Wheaton Central High School, class of 1965. She went on to marry Thomas D. Trotter on April 29, 1967, at Geneva Road Baptist Church in Wheaton, IL, and was a devoted wife for over 57 years. She held various jobs over the years, most importantly she was a stay-at-home mom for her four children. She worked at Four Star Restaurant in Belvidere, Edward’s Apple Orchard in Poplar Grove, K’s Merchandise in Rockford, and eventually went on to work for the Boone County Farm Service Agency in Belvidere in 1987, where she worked until retiring in June of 2012, after more than 25 years. At the Boone County Farm Service Agency, she provided a variety of assisted services for the local farming community. But what Carol enjoyed the most in life was spending time with her family: cooking out, shopping adventures, reading a good book before bedtime, taking a trip to a local winery, coffee time in the morning, dinners/lunches out with her family, and snuggles with her grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she could. Having her family and loved ones around brought her so much joy and happiness. She was the greatest mom in the World, putting everyone else first, a nurturing soul, and was always compassionate and caring to others. She gave great hugs and was truly a wonderful person, the pillar of our family, and she will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her so very much. She dedicated most of her time over the past 7 years as the primary caregiver for her mother, Lucille, and more recently her husband, Tom.
