Bret "Bert" Michalsen Obituary

Bret “Bert” R. Michalsen, 21, of Loves Park passed away June 3, 2021. Born April 4, 2000 in Rockford the son of Rick Michalsen and Traci (Bourgois) Oglesby. A graduate of Auburn High School where he enjoyed participating in sports, including hockey. Employed by Arachnid. Bret loved sports, especially the Los Angeles Rams and the Chicago Cubs. Bret was known for his big heart, selflessness and caring nature. He loved everyone he met and if needed would help anyone he could.

Survivors include parents, Traci and Terry Oglesby, Rick Michalsen; siblings, Brittany Daehler, Bradley Draheim, Brandon Draheim, Amanda Michalsen, Josh Michalsen, Alexander Oglesby, Austin Dobbratz; grandparents, Bill and Karla Michalsen; 1 niece; and 5 nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Road, Rockford.
