Bobby V. Hamlin, Sr., 84, of Loves Park, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on August 4, 1940. He graduated from Evarts High School in Evarts, KY and then served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Joyce A. Eldridge in Virginia on May 5, 1962.
Bobby dedicated 44 years to Chrysler, retiring in 2007. He was a hardworking man who truly loved what he did. His commitment and passion for his work were evident in everything he pursued. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the guitar and writing songs. He loved watching football and was an avid reader, having read over 4,000 books in his lifetime. In his spare time he enjoyed doing word searches and crossword puzzles. He found great joy in painting houses and remodeling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Ronda (Ken) Foreman; grandchildren, Zachary (Haley) Hamlin, Gretchen Mueller, Stephanie (Brent) Garnhart, Maladria Foreman and Shamanda (Dedrick) Walter; great-grandchildren, Emma Mirshak, Cash, Clyde, Hermione Garnhart, SaRaya, Dartaviuz, Vaeja Foreman, London, Brylee and Malani Hardin; sister; Janice Sue Price; numerous nieces and nephews; and honorary daughters, Kimberly Cruz, Julie Scholtz and Nicole Knight. Predeceased by his father, Elmer Hamblin; mother, Effie Hamblin; wife, Joyce A. Hamlin; son, Bobby V. Hamlin, Jr.; daughter, Kimberley A. Hamlin; brothers, Rex Hamlin and Ronald Hamblin; and nephew, Patrick Hamblin.

Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. Graveside service will follow at 1:30pm in Scottish Argyle Cemetery, Caledonia. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
