Betty J. Koteski

Betty Jane Koteski, 95, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  Betty was born in Rockford on December 24, 1929 to Clyde and Dora (Withers) Edwards.  She married Edward Koteski on May 29, 1948 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rockford.  She worked at Magna grocery store for many, many years.  She was an Americorp volunteer and active in RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Sherry) Koteski and Jeffrey Koteski; sons-in-law, Rodney Swanson and John Wilkening; grandchildren, Craig (Jamie) Swanson, Ben Otwell (Andrea Swing-Kaiser), Adam (Jennifer) Otwell, Cristy Swanson, Kaylee (Matt) Quick, Nick (Rachel) Koteski, Aaron Koteski (Lindsey Sedols), Carissa Hoffman (Taite Hintzsche), Edward Koteski and Ian Koteski; great-grandchildren, Natalie Otwell, Ben Otwell, Jr., Noah Otwell, Emily and Elizabeth Millard, Thomas Quick, Madeline Koteski, Annika Kotesksi and Samuel Quick; great-great-grandson, Elliott Swanson; brother, Don Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Dora Edwards; husband of 59 years, Edward Koteski; daughters, Linda Swanson and Susan Wilkening; and great-grandson, Bryce Swanson.

Memorial service will be at 5:00pm with a visitation from 4:00pm until the service on Friday, April 18, 2025 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
