Barry Richard Gierloff

Barry Richard Gierloff, 74, of Rockford passed away September 20, 2021. Born January 25, 1947 in Oregon, the son of Dorothy Maycheck and Esther and Art Gierloff. A veteran of the US Army serving during peacetime. Married Tammy Bell on September 20, 1997 in Rockton, IL. Retired from Chrysler after 42 years. Barry enjoyed fishing, photography, hunting, cooking and being outdoors. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his son, Bryan.

Survivors include wife, Tammy Gierloff; children, Kim Gierloff, Teresa (Todd) Gierloff Sallinger, Jennifer Zitkus, Bryan (Johnnie Buckley) Gierloff, Aundrea (Randy) Fortson, Brandon Bell; grandchildren, Cody Meacham, Brooke Wasmund, Paige (Sallinger) Domach, Ashton Sallinger, Kayla Sallinger, Spencer Zitkus, Luke Zitkus, Owen Zitkus; Ariel Fortson, Gracie Fortson, Caleb Fortson, Mia Bell, Malayna Bell; great grandson, Noah Meacham; sister, Judy (Ray) Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; grandparents; and siblings.

Celebration of life will be held from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021 in Forest Hills Country Club, 5135 Forest Hills Road, Rockford.
