Barbara J. Daniel

Barbara J. Daniel, 88, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Barbara was born on June 29, 1936 and was an only child to Frank and Edith Allen.  She married JW Daniel on April 25, 1970.

Barb was the best mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend to many that anyone could ever have.  She was an avid bowler who boasted of many awards for high score and series.  This love for bowling was passed on to her oldest son and his children.  Barb and JW belonged to Lincolnwood Baptist Church for over 40 years, making many lifetime friendships.  Barb was loved by all she met.

She is predeceased by her parents; son, Lloyd William Turnure; grandson, Leroy Crawford; and husband, JW Daniel.  Barb leaves behind five children, Robert (Sheryl) Turnure; daughter-in-law, Royann Crawford, Christine (Lance) Fontane, Jeffrey (Goria) Turnure, Richard (Misty) Turnure, Thomas (Candi Hawkins) Turnure; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  She will forever be missed by all.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon with a visitation from 11:00am until the service on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 in Lincoln Wood Baptist Church, 705 N. Springfield Ave., Rockford, IL 61101.  Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
